Thomas E. Steed Sr., 65, of Alliance passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Community Care Center in Alliance. Tom was born in Alliance on November 26, 1946 the son of the late Peter and Mary (Rice) Steed. Tom worked for over 26 years at Hawk Laboratories and also was employed at SANCAP; he was known as an avid fisherman and also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Evelyn (Robinson) Steed of Alliance whom he married on October 8, 1986, 9 children; Dwayne Steed of Salem, Thomas Steed of SC, Lee Steed of Alliance, Donald (Kelly) Handy of Sebring, Ralph (Jodi) handy of Sebring, Bob Handy of GA, Cindy (Gary) Sypolt of WV, Jeff Handy of Sebring and Gary “Amos” (Carrie) Handy of AZ. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren a brother William (Ruth) Steed of Minerva and 3 sisters Martha (Charles) Harton of Sebring, Karen (Gerold) McKay of Hanoverton, Twila (James) Grindel of East Rochester and multiple nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers. A Private family service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 17th Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
