Tammy Kern, 54, of Youngstown, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at her home. Tammy was born on March 12, 1966 in McKeesport, PA to George and Virginia Kern. Tammy attended Western Reserve High School where she graduated and furthered her education at Youngstown State University. Tammy was very active in her community always helping others and lending a hand whenever someone needed it. She coached for the women softball league at Millcreek Park and helped judge the rabbit costume class for many years at the Canfield Fair. When she was not helping others she enjoyed woodworking where she always made things for others, and she was an outstanding artist.
Tammy is survived by her mom Virginia Kern; sisters Tina (Frank) Imburgia and Tracey (Dan) Brown; nieces and nephews Katelynn (Brandon Goodnight) Imburgia, Kimberly (Derek Gorman) Imburgia, Kristen Imburgia, Andrew (Samantha) Brown, and Nicholas Brown; a great nephew Adam Brown and great niece Abigail Brown. Tammy was preceded in death by her father George W. Kern.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Father Thomas Dyer officiating. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and the hour prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Ellsworth Cemetery, Ellsworth, Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wreaths for Veterans, 9790 West Hill Dr. Canfield, Ohio 44406.
