Raymond Louis Rising

Raymond L. "Ray" Rising, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, at his home in Sebring, Ohio at the age of 53. Born on May 24, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, to Raymond Rising Sr. and the late Ethel Linda (Gibbs) Rising.

Ray worked as a lead for General Aluminum, where his dedication and work ethic were as evident as his easy-going nature. Beyond his formal job, Ray was a gifted mechanic, known by many for his ability to fix almost anything. His hands were rarely clean, and his heart was always full, as he spent countless hours tinkering under the hood of a car or solving the mysteries of a stubborn engine.

Ray is survived by his wife, Kathy (Turgeon) Rising, and three stepchildren, Joseph, Justin, and Tyler Roderick, two grandchildren, Lucas and Layla Roderick. He also leaves behind his father and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Ray's life was a testament to the power of love, the value of work, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
