Ada R. Greenawalt, 87 of Alliance, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital. Ada was born in Robertsville on October 29, 1922 the daughter of the late William Edward and Edna (Unkefer) Carl; she was a lifelong Alliance area resident and was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. Survivors include her two sons; Larry (Rosemary) Greenawalt of Canton, Roger (Brenda) Greenawalt of North Canton, a daughter Peggy Kimes of Homeworth, eight grandchildren; Lindsay, Ashley and Bethany Greenawalt of Canton, Heather Fockler of North Canton, Kevin Kimes of Homeworth, Bridget McIntosh of Louisville, Amy Fagan of Alliance, Joe Halley of Canton, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister Joann Chapell of Alliance a brother William Carl of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lea Wilson Greenawalt whom she married on June 30, 1945 and passed away on October 13, 2000, seven siblings, a grandson roger, a great granddaughter Nicole Taggart and a son in law Forest Kimes. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Alecia Schroedel Officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Damascus Cemetery. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
