Albert Sandberg

Albert A. Sandberg, 93, went to be with Jesus on 11/1/13. Born 4/3/20 in Midland, Pennsylvania to Carl & Mary Thomas Sandberg. He was raised in Canton, Ohio, graduated from Canton McKinley and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Ann Davis. They were blessed to have celebrated 72 years of marriage on 9/24/13. Also surviving are sons: Allan D. Sandberg(Eloyce), Colorado; James R. Sandberg(Marge), Florida; & daughter Cheryl S. Gray(Steven), Florida; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings Ada Green, Paul R. Sandberg, Florida; many nephews, nieces & cousins.
Albert was a Navy veteran of World War II residing in Florida since 2001, after 21 years in Canton, Ohio and 50 years in Columbus, Ohio. He was retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio. Albert was a faithful member of Community United Methodist Church, Casselberry, Florida & the Crosby Y, Winter Park. He was active in Masonic, Scottish Rite, Shrine, TPA & also served as Ohio Lieutenant Governor of Civitan. He loved to fly, receiving his private pilot's license at age 59. He enjoyed his model train display hobby, ushering at the Ohio State University Football games, participating in bowling and golf leagues, woodworking & being a handyman for all in his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Disabled American Veterans or the Community United Methodist Church. Interment will be November 11th at Alliance Ohio City Cemetery at 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 3pm November 29th at Community United Methodist Church, Casselberry, Florida. Albert was a faithful and devoted husband and father, a gentle God fearing man deeply loved and respected by all his family and liked by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed!
