Alice D. (Kraft) Hardy

April 9, 1925 — March 1, 2019

Alice D. Hardy 93, of North Georgetown passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Crandall Medical Center Memory Unit, surrounded by her family. Alice was born in Akron, Ohio on April 9, 1925 the daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha (Sellers) Kraft. She grew up on the family farm on Smith-Goshen Road in Beloit and was a member of the East Goshen Friends Church. She attended Goshen High School.

On October 17, 1942 she married Elmer Hardy and together they raised seven children, along with beef and dairy cattle at Circle Lane Farm in North Georgetown. Alice also worked at Stoffer's Farm Market, retiring after 25 years. For many years she attended the First Brethren Church in North Georgetown.

She always enjoyed sewing and her family will have many quilts and rugs to remind them of her talent. Every new grandchild, great-grandchild and great-great grandchild received a quilt, hand-made by Grandma.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Kenneth (Kathy) Hardy of Atwater, Joyce (Don) Ray of Aurora, CO., Diana (Jack) Woods of Atwater, Shirley (Clay) Vernon of Beloit, Terrie (Doug Parzuchowski) Hippely of Wesley Chapel, FL. and Karen (Dale) Karlen of Salem and a daughter-in-law Lynn Hardy of Beloit. She also leaves 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren (with one due to arrive any day), 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Donna Oprandi of Alliance and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer L. Hardy in 2007; son Elmer Jr. in 2015; a great grandson Brandon Boyle; four sisters Della Hazen, Viola Moyer, Deloris Davis and infant Susie Kraft.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. David Parry officiating. Friends and family will be received the hour prior to the service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in North Georgetown Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Crandall Medical Center Memory Unit, 800 S. 15th St. Sebring, Ohio 44672 or to Aultman Alliance Hospice. 2461 W. State St. Suite E Alliance, Ohio 44601. A special thank you to the staff at the Memory Unit at Crandall Medical Center for the wonderful care and compassion they showed our mom. It will never be forgotten.
