Alice Mae Nezbeth, 86, of Sebring passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her home. Alice was born on May 15, 1926, in Alliance, the daughter of the late John Albert and Gladys Ellen (Taylor) Knecht. Alice graduated from Sebring High School in 1944. She was a life long resident of Sebring and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church where she was a former Altar and Rosary President. Mrs. Nezbeth worked at the Strand Theatre, Strong Manufacturing and Kulka Steel where she was the head Secretary. Alice was the bookkeeper for over 50 years, for her husband Bernie at their family business Nezbeth Auto Electric. Alice was involved with both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts as a leader and also belonged to many other Community Organizations in the Sebring/West Branch area and their schools; including the Sebring Historical Society. Alice enjoyed traveling with her sister Thelma on bus tours, spending her summers at their Lake Cottage and collecting Teddy Bears, sewing and quilting. Survivors include her husband, Bernard “Bernie” Joseph Nezbeth whom she married on May 20, 1950, her daughter Joan K. Schneider of Revenna, a son John R. (Amy) Nezbeth of Minerva, a daughter Amy N. (John) Wallace of Homeworth, a daughter Paula A. (Jeff) Voci of Cleveland, Nine grandchildren; Ryan, Cory and Mallory Schneider, Mathew and Luke Nezbeth, McKenzie, Johnny, Bernie and Madison Wallace. Alice is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Thelma (Knecht) Mohr of Sebring, Rosemary (Knecht) Mansfield of Ft. Worth, TX, Kathy (Knecht) (Bud) Beidler of Cape Coral, FL and Ken (Janice) Knecht of Cleveland. In addition to her parents Alice was preceded in death by her brother in laws Dale Mohr and Ronnie Mansfield, and a nephew Jim Bob Mansfield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Matthew Mankowski and Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM. A Rosary Service will be held at 8PM.
