Anna Fryxell

During life's journey we are blessed to know special people that touch our hearts. Anna (Anne) Fryxell was one of those people Ann died on April 30 in Crandall Medical Center, Sebring, Ohio. She was born in Seattle, Washington on July 20, 1918 the only child of Frieda & Norbert Fryxell then moved to New York City as a young child where she went to school and graduated. Anne lived her life with a strong sense of work ethic, integrity and honor. After many years in retail management in New York City, she came to Ohio to work as a director of personnel and buyer for a large Cleveland department store. After retiring, she and her mother Frieda moved to Copeland Oaks in Sebring. At Copeland Oaks she started the chaplaincy program and instituted the Friendly Visitors program at Crandall Medical Center. She was the devoted god-mother of John (Kerry) Kruse of New Jersey and dear friend of George & Susan Hays and “Aunt Anne” to their children, Sarah of Cleveland and George II (Jana) of Prague, Czech Republic. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and dearest cousin Evelyn Kruse. Anne loved the New York Yankees and enjoyed watching them play. You would usually see her sporting her Yankees ball cap on game day. She liked music and was an ardent news fan. She was known for her sharp mind, quick wit and strong opinions and liked to have fun. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Copeland Oaks, Crandall Medical Center and Hospice of the Valley for their loving and compassionate care of Ann. Following her wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private family entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum. A Celebration of Life will be observed on Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m. in the Bennett Chapel at Copeland Oaks, with the Rev. David Perry officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ann's honor to the Oaks Foundation Life Care Fund, 715 Johnson Road, Sebring, OH 44672.
