Anna Pheasant

Anna Vaughn Pheasant, age 98, was called to her heavenly home on March 26, 2015. Anna Vaughn was born on January 21, 1917 in Apollo PA to S.D. and Flora Fiscus Gourley. Anna Vaughn was always proud of her unique name, which her mother had read in a novel shortly before her birth. The highlight of her career was her time as the Executive Secretary for Ray Bliss who was the Chairman of the Republican Party. During this time she met many influential politicians including several presidents. She continued her interest in politics throughout her life. She was also interested in sports and would never miss watching the Indians, Browns or Cavaliers games on TV. Anna Vaughn was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church and Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church. She was also active in Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle, and her brothers Gerald and Neil. She is survived by her brother, Dale Gourley, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
There will be a Memorial Service for Anna Vaughn on Sunday, April 26 at 1 PM in the Bennett Chapel at Copeland Oaks, 800 S. 15th St, Sebring OH. Memorials gifts may be made to the Copeland Oaks Life Care Fund at the same address. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
