Anthony “Tony” H. Dawson, 87, of Sebring, passed away on October 3, 2013 at Essex I of Salem. He was born on July 28, 1926 in Sebring, Ohio the son of the late Anthony H. and Rhoda (Brooks) Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a food and beverage operator and worked at the Sebring VFW, Alliance Rec Center in the 50’s, The Alliance Country Club from 1970-80; he also was the Owner/Operator of Dawson’s Restaurant in Alliance and managed Bistro 62. He was a member of Sebring Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the Sebring VFW. Tony is survived by three sons Anthony H. (Cindy) Evans of Cape May Court House, NJ, Todd Anthony Dawson of Canton, Michael Anthony Dawson of Jupiter FL; three daughters Elizabeth Bach of Tennessee, Kim Ortigara of Chicago, Rebecca Milora of Yardley, PA; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; Jim Sobotka, Tom Sobatka, Pam Vargo, Tammie Sobatka, Doris, Rosemary, Gordon, John, Jimmy and Joyce Ann he is also survived by a sister Ruth J. Sobotka and two sisters-in-law Edith Dawson and Lillian Dawson. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by 3 brothers Gordon, Jay and Paul a sister Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 7, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Friends may call on Sunday, October 6th from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Memorial contributions can be made in Tony’s honor to the DAV or the Sebring VFW.
