Arthenia "Artie" Rager

Arthenia “Artie” Rager, 86, of Alliance, formerly of Akron and North Benton, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Altercare of Alliance. Artie was born on January 19, 1925 in Wheatfield, PA the daughter of the late Benjamin and Clara (Flick) Murphy. Arthenia was a Jehovah’s Witness and attended the Salem Kingdom Hall. Survivors include her sons; Thyrsis “Ty” L. (Darlene) Rager of Uniontown, George (Marie) Rager Jr. of Akron and Philip (Elise) Rager of Alliance. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, two sisters Phyllis Willison of Salem and Grace (Willard) Welce of Akron. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George W. Rager Sr. on Dec. 8, 1985, a daughter Brenda Dunn and a sister Jean Merkel. A Service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Salem Kingdom Hall. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
