Avis Helm

Avis M. Helm, 79, of Salem passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Crandall Medical Center. Avis was born in Wooster on September 24, 1932, the daughter of the late Willard and Mabel (Franks) Norris. She worked at GM Lordstown and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem. Avis enjoyed quilting and cooking for family and friends. Survivors include her daughter Kathleen “Kathy” Avis Helm of Falls Church Virginia, a son James “Mike” (Debbie) Helm of Alliance; 5 grandchildren, Dana (Randy), Kyle, Adam, Shane (Jennifer), Stephanie; 1 great granddaughter Aurora (who was born 8/11/12) and a sister Susan Norris Miller of Wooster. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Collin K. Helm who passed away 45 years ago, two brothers and a sister.
