Avon R. Williams, 75 of Beloit passed away at Crandall Medical Center on January 18, 2014. Avon was born on April 12, 1938 in Salem, Ohio the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Blanche R. (Brunner) King. Avon retired from the accounting department of SES in 2004. She was a member of Vine Street United Methodist Church, where she was a former choir member, served on the administrative board, former treasurer of the Fellowship Building Fund, a member of the Worship and Finance Committee, Financial secretary. She was a 1956 graduate of Sebring High School and a 57 year member of Bouffants Club (area high school friends).
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David G. Williams whom she married on July 25, 1959; two sons Keven (Beth) Williams of Beloit, Kyle (Melissa) Williams of Salem; two grandsons Trey and Matthew; three granddaughters Braddin, Emmi, and Kara; two stepsisters Lenore Sechler of Hanoverton and Lois (James) Coffield of Westerville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 step-fathers; Roy Menges, and Clarence Christen and a stepbrother Lowell Christen.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Vine Street United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. David Bloor. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
