Barbara Ward

Barbara Leigh Ward, age 80 of Sebring, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born July 13, 1934 to Arthur Ray and Thelma (Mercer) Eells. She graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1952. Barbara was a lifelong member of Pine Lake Christian Church where she served as secretary for many years. She retired from Berean Christian Bookstore and served as a longtime volunteer at the Alliance Pregnancy Center. World Missions and Children's Ministries were very dear to her heart.
She is survived by her children; Pamelyn (Don) Fryfogle of Sebring, Gregg (Lisa) Ward of Crawfordville, FL, Leigh Ann (Dick) Villard of Sebring, Deirdre (Bob) Vizzuso of Beloit and Nathan (Tammy) Ward of Raleigh, NC; 11 grandchildren; Michelle, Stephanie, Jason, Jarred, Justin, Erin, Brandon, Matthew, Abbie, Victoria and Ian and 13 great grandchildren; Olivia, Devyn, Delaney, Sydny, Alexa, Garin, Kadin, Brady, Brooklyn, Braydon, Olin, Haizel and Camdyn. She is also survived by her brother Gary Ray (Judy) Eells, sister-in-law Carol Eells and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph D. "Sonny" Ward, Jr. who died in 1983, brother, Jim Eells and grandson, Daniel Vizzuso.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday January 19, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home. Pastor Ed Harnish will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice. Alzheimer's attacks both the mind and body of our loved ones. Please support their efforts in finding a cure.
Because Barbara dedicated her life to the service of others, nothing would make her happier than knowing acts of kindness were done in her memory.
