Barry H. Newhart, 82, of Homeworth, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday April 18, 2015 at his home. Barry was born in Mount Orab, Ohio on October 28, 1932, the son of the late Charles Newhart and Leona (Oliver) Bohlen. He attended Ohio University, served in the US Army and worked as a dairy technician for Coba Select Sires. Barry was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #574 North Georgetown. In his early years he drove stock cars, was a sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them in sports.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Janet (Smith ) Newhart whom he married on July 10, 1957; two sons, David (Kimberly) Newhart, Bryan (Lora) Newhart; two daughters Teresa (Chris) Latham, Michele (Robert) Utley; twelve grandchildren Ryan (Jessica) Newhart, Drew (Vanessa) Newhart, Tyler J. Newhart, Abbey (Dan) Icenhour, Joshua T. Latham, Matthew J. Latham, Nikolas H. Newhart, Taylor J. Newhart, Kennedy M. Newhart, Rieley N. Newhart, Alex R. Utley, Bo M. Utley and two great grandchildren Ava E. Newhart and Adalyn A. Newhart. He is also survived by a step brother Ronald (Barbara) Bohlen of Marietta, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at Gednetz Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Waters officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Tuesday April 21, 2015 and the hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
