Beverly Ann Filisky, 75, of Alliance passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Beverly was born in Salem, the daughter of the late Gordon and Lela Gertrude (Grove) DeVall on November 13, 1936. She attended Mount Union College, graduated from Kent State University and was a teacher in the West Branch School District for 29 years. Prior to becoming a teacher she worked for the Village of Beloit. Beverly was a member of St. Josephâs Church in Alliance, active as a cook for bingo at St. Gabrielâs in Minerva, served as secretary of the SAS Pigeon Club and was a past Cub Scout leader. Survivors include her husband of 55 years Paul J. Filisky whom she married on June 1, 1957, four sons, Jack (Kelly) Filisky of Hanoverton, Dan (Jerri) Filisky of Minerva, Jeff (Deb) Filisky of Scio, and Steve (Angela) Filisky of Minerva; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers Lloyd DeVall of Guilford, and Kenneth DeVall of Uniontown. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Josephâs Church in Alliance at 1:00 PM with Father Matthew Mankowski officiating.
