Billy Newman

Billy Ray Newman 76, of Alliance died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Aultman Hospital. Billy Ray was born in Hamden, Ohio on March 23, 1932 the son of the late Henry and Ruth Opal (Sowards) Newman. Mr. Newman was a U.S Navy Veteran and served in the Mediterranean during the Korean War Era, he retired from Transue and Williams Steel forgings as a shipping clerk. Mr. Newman is survived by his Son James Robert Newman, a daughter Shelley Rae Richardson both of Alliance, 5 grandchildren; James Patrick Newman, Angela Christine (Newman) Bailey, Jonathan Robert Newman, Daniel Ray Newman and Joseph Richardson, 2 great grandchildren; Alexander Griffiths and Abigail Bailey. He is also survived by a brother Lawrence (Dorothy) Newman of Hamden and 2 sisters Betty Norton of Radcliffe, OH and Dorthy (Earl) Jenkins of Hamden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patricia Louise (Phillips) Newman whom he married July 17, 1954 and past away in April of 1994, a brother Robert and a sister Marjorie Kiser. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, Jan. 16th, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Dan Michaels officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from noon till the time of service.
