Billy Smarr

Billy Keith Smarr, 74 of Alliance passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Crandall Medical Center. Billy was born in Buckhannon, WV on August 4, 1936 the son of the late Okey B. and Nora (Paugh) Smarr; he worked at Kuntzman Trucking for 35 years as a driver, he was a lifetime member of the National Fisherman’s Club, he loved to do wood crafting, he was an avid camper and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will also be remembered for being an excellent guitar player. Survivors include his wife LaVonne (Caufield) Smarr whom he married on April 5, 1990, two daughters, Terri (Lonnie) Yoder of Columbus, Cheri Keller of North Canton a son Billy (Nita) Smarr of Grove City, step daughter Kimberly (Dean) Kuszmaul of Salem, three step sons; Craig Thomas of Lake Milton, Brian Thomas of Salem, and Chad (Tammy) Thomas of Sebring. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two sisters Sheila Maple of Salineville, Gladys Reynolds of San Antonio, TX and a brother Carroll Smarr of Fostoria. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Blaine and Oakie, a sister Virginia and a grandson. A Service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home with Rev. Rick Brendlinger officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7PM on Monday.
