Carolyn M. Brubaker, 81, of Beloit, passed away on April 1, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic. Carolyn was born on May 29, 1931 in Alliance, the daughter of the late Godfrey “Gus” and Florence (Hagar) Jurica. She retired after working for 25 years as an executive secretary for the Salem China Company. Carolyn was a very active member of the Sebring VFW Post 6730 Ladies Auxiliary where she served as secretary/treasurer, participating in the Children’s Christmas parties, steak fry’s, card clubs and all auxiliary functions. She was also an Easter Seals caregiver to a blind individual. Carolyn was a vivacious, fun-loving, industrious and caring person. She will be greatly missed by her many, many friends and family members as well as the many other lives she positively touched on a daily basis. Survivors include her sons, Larry (Lisa) Brubaker of Beloit, David (Crystal) Brubaker of Sebring; daughters, Susan (Dan) Jackson of Sebring, Janet McDonough of Greenville, South Carolina; a daughter in law, Diana Brubaker-Smith and a special cousin Peg Muntan of Beloit; nine grandchildren, Heather, Andrew, Jessica, Olivia, John, Carie, Jennifer , Katie and Bill; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Besides her parents she was preceded in death a son Richard “Dick” Brubaker, a brother Russell Jurica and a grandson Alex McDonough. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Thursday April 4, 2013, officiated by Rev. Martin Radcliff. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s honor to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary or the Auxiliary Cancer Fund 206 East Ohio Ave. Sebring, OH 44672.
