Carolyn T. Elliott, 101 of Sebring passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Community Care Center in Alliance. Carolyn was born in McConnelsville, Ohio on October 1, 1916 the daughter of the late James Torbert and Vesta (Miller) Torbert. She was a graduate of Sebring Mckinley High School and after being selected as Valedictorian of her senior class she attended the College of Wooster for 2 years. She married Ray Elliott on November 6, 1939 and was a long time member of the Sebring United Methodist Church, serving many roles. She was an 80 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed playing the xylophone, reading (mostly non fiction books) and playing Bridge. She also worked at the Sebring Library and the Sebring Times Newspaper (which her father started) as well as Keller Mines.
Survivors include her two children; Susan (Ronald) Sheets of Alliance, Bill (Cecelia) Elliott of Madison,Ohio, 4 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond who passed away on June 25, 1998 and a sister Verona Abbott.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring at 1:00 PM with Rev. Elaine Weaver officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home the hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Sebring Grandview Cemetery.
