Charlene "Smitty" Smith

Charlene E. Smith, “Smitty” 73, of Alliance passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Charlene was born in Alliance on November 4, 1937 the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Coe) Bauhof; she was a 1956 graduate of Alliance High School and through her lifetime was employed at Armor, Keibler Company, Marlboro Manufacturing, Holiday Inn, the Consumer Communication Service and retired from Modern China. “Smitty” enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 53 years Loren Smith whom she married on May 10, 1958 of Alliance, a daughter Kimberly Ann (Lewis) Emery of Alliance, a son Kristopher Anthony (Jennifer) Smith of Damascus, four grandchildren; Alex Emery, Dillon Emery, Jenna Smith and Gabby Smith. She is also survived by a brother Vernon (Evelyn) Bauhof of Alliance, a brother in law Charles Smith of Las Vegas and two sisters in law Dorothy Skelding and Laverne Hinderson of Florida. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Loren Jr. Per her request Charlene will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Highland Memorial Park.
