Charles Miller

Charles (Chuck) N. Miller, 81 of Sebring passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Canterbury Villa in Alliance. Chuck was born in Alliance, Ohio on November 4, 1932 to Paul and Rose (Spiker) Miller.
A carpenter by trade, he was employed for 20 years by Riley Construction Company in Salem, Ohio as a superintendent. He was later in partnership building houses in the Sebring area and later worked in the maintenance department at Copeland Oaks. Chuck was instrumental in the rebirth of the Hot Stove Baseball League in Sebring and for years successfully coached a number of teams and helped maintain the ball fields. IN 2009, he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Sebring-West Branch Hot Stove Baseball League for his years of service to children in the Sebring-West Branch area. He was also a charter member of the Sebring Lions Club where he was awarded the Melvin B. Jones award. Chuck was also a member of the Sebring United Methodist Church where he served as a chairman of the board of trustees for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Doris (Ruff), daughter Kathleen (Jeffrey) Schroeder of Sebring, sons Daniel (Christine) of Copley and Joseph (Teresa) of Lake Cable. He is also survived by five grandsons, three step-grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Siblings include Dorothy Fudoli, Donna Lauener, June (Wayne) Blitz, Delores (Donald) Foster, Clyde, Raymond (Marianne). Preceded him in death were his parents, brothers; John, William, Kenneth, Robert, Vincent, Paul, Ralph and Glenn.
The family is having a private funeral service with his burial to take place in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of choice.
