Clarence Edward Stevens, 74, of Atwater, Oho passed away on Monday morning at Robinson Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Stevens was born on may 8, 1936, in Warriors Fork, west Virginia to the late Thomas and Ollie (Myers) Stevens; he lived in Atwater most of his life. He attended school in West Virginia. Clarence worked as a coal miner in WV, at A.C. Williams in Ravenna and TruCast in Akron as a molder; he also owned and operated Deerfield Auto salvage until he became ill and no longer could work 14 years ago. Mr. Stevens enjoyed hunting, working on and painting cars, and his favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom dearly love and miss him. Clarence is survived by his wife, Charlotte L. (Ward) Stevens whom he married on November 2, 1957 and truly love more than life itself. His sons; Clarence (Sheila) Stevens Jr. of Currituck, North Carolina, Robert (Sylvia) Stevens of Atwater, Donald Stevens of Alliance, John (Trudy) Stevens of Alliance, his daughters; Charlene (Bill) Wallace of Canton, Mary (Tim) Thompson of Alliance, Barb (Donnie) Small of Magadore, Susan (Scott) Robinson of Newton falls, Pam (Richard) Makin of Damascus, 22 grandchildren, and 15 plus great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Opal McCourt of Kent, Ohio and a brother David (Lillian) Stevens of Wallace, WV. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sons Thomas L., Mark F., Paul M., a sister Hazel Wells and three brothers; Alfred, James and Ray Stevens. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Ron Lanham officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30 till the time of the service. Burial will take place in Atwater Cemetery.
