Clifford Kerr

Clifford B. Kerr, 88, of Salem passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Crandall Medical Center. Clifford was born in Damascus, Ohio on July 16, 1921 the son of the late Neil and Leila (Elton) Kerr. He was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Kerr was self-employed as a welder and metal fabricator for over 60 years at Kerr & Kerr Welding. He was an active member of Damascus Friends Church serving as a church elder and was also a volunteer fireman. He was a honorary member of WCTU. Mr. Kerr leaves behind his wife of 69 years Elma (Mather) Kerr whom he married on September 24, 1940; three sons Clifford K. (Garrie) of Damascus, Frank (Eileen) of Carrollton, David (Paula) of Marion, Indiana; three daughters, Florence Ferguson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Linda (David) Peterson of Damascus, Kathy (Chris) Hanna of St. John Nova Scotia; 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Russell,a sister Margaret Penrose, and son in law David Ferguson. Services will be held at Damascus Friends Church on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11:00AM with Pastors John Ryser and Rick Brendlinger officiating. Friends may call Thursday April 8, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Brown Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Damascus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Damascus Friends Church Building Fund. Friends may send condolences online at www.brownfhonline.com. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.
