Curtis E. Fahnert, 89, of Beloit, passed away on Friday July 3, 2015, at Akron City Hospital.  Curtis was born in Sebring, Ohio on January 2, 1926, the son of the late Curtis E. and Mathilde (Key) Fahnert.  Mr. Fahnert was a World War II Army Veteran receiving a Purple Heart during his service in Germany. Curtis was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was head of visitation and communion, a member of the Carnation Festival Board, and Carnation City Players.  He enjoyed traveling, skiing, theatre, church choir and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Harriett (McCullough); two sons, Joel (Melissa) Fahnert of Salem, Chris (Cheryl) Fahnert of Detroit and a brother Eugene Fahnert.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Elinor Baker and two brothers John and Edward.
