Dale Rumburg

Dale Greenwood Rumburg 73, of Salem died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boardman. He was born December 11, 1934 in Minerva, to the late Edison and Mary Blanche (Greenwood) Rumburg. Mr. Rumburg graduated from Minerva High School Class of 1952; he received his BS in Vocational Agriculture from The Ohio State University and his Master�s Degree in Special Education from Kent State University. He was a US Army veteran and taught in the Alliance and East Palestine school systems as well as the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School and the Gambier Vocational School. Dale also served as Administrator for the Madison Health Care Center in Madison, Ohio. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem, serving on various committees and the church Chancel Choir, he could be found almost every Sunday sitting in the center top row seat in the choir loft singing Bass. Dale is also a member of the Salem Jubilee Chorus and served as their Secretary, a past member of FFA and 4H he also served as 4H Advisor and was active in Ruritan International. He is survived by his wife Jeanne (Huston), a son Edward (MaryBeth) Rumburg of Chardon and two grandchildren Aaron and Kelsey. Dale was preceded in death by his; parents, a brother Lacy J., half sister Deane, and two half brothers Huston and Jesse. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 17th at 3:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mac Kelly officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:30PM till the time of the service. A Private Family Burial will take place. Memorial contributions can be sent in Dale's memory to the United Methodist Church Music Fund, The United School Scholarship Program or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
