Dave Rauch

David “Dave” A. Rauch, 69, of Damascus passed away at his home on Friday, June 24, 2011. Dave was born in Petersburgh, Ohio the son of the late Wilbur Rauch and Alice (Richey) Rauch Kraly; he was a graduate of Springfield Local Schools and Kent State University. Mr. Rauch was a 50 year member of the Damascus Friends Church where he was involved in many aspects of the church; he enjoyed being able to work with various Damascus organizations to help improve his community including the Damascus Park and Damascus Ruritan Club for 25 years; but he will especially be remembered for being a devoted man of God, loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor and teacher to many. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Joan (Criss) Rauch, his mother Alice Kraly of Jacksonville, North Carolina, his four children; Judy (Tim) Smith of Salem, Jane (Roger) Dunn of Newport, North Carolina, Missy (John) Morris of Salem, Davie (Erin) Rauch of Parma and eight grandchildren; Jonathon Morris, Allie Smith, Rosealin Morris, Charlie Smith, Kaitlyn Rauch, Kaylee Rauch, Griffin Rauch, and Josalin Rauch. He is also survived by three brothers Jack (Patti) Rauch of DeFuniack Springs, FL, Don (Becky) Rauch of Wilmington, OH, Dale (Sue) Rauch Spotsylvania, VA and a sister Ruth Ann (Adam) Fischer of Laurel, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at Damascus Friends Church on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Ryser officiating. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 2-8PM with the family present from 2-4PM and 5-8PM and the hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will take place in Damascus Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Dave’s memory to Alliance Hospice or the Damascus Friends Church. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
