Dawn M. Postiy, age 63, of Sebring died Thursday, Oct. 11th at Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was born December 31, 1943 in Alliance to Robert W. and Jean S (Fife) Gaul. Dawn graduated from Alliance High School class of 1962 and attended Mt. Union College. She was employed as an Optometrists Assistant for Dr.’s Stein and Fields, Retiring from Dr. Fields in 2005. Dawn was involved in many activities and organizations in her community including; a member of the Sebring United Methodist church where she was a member of the choir and the church Administrative Council President, former member of the Sebring City Council, a former member of the Sebring Parks and Recreation Board, coordinator for the Sebring Wellness Program, Director of the Sebring Literacy Council, an advanced EMT for Beloit, Past President of the Alliance Elks #467 Ladies Auxiliary, chosen as the Woman of the year in 2005 by the Alliance Elks, and was serving currently as a trustee for the Elks Auxiliary. She loved painting, music, the theater, creative calligraphy writing and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and granddaughter. She is survived by her husband Richard D. Postiy whom she married Dec. 3, 1976, her daughter Megan Postiy of Sebring, her mother Jean Gaul of Alliance, a sister Barbara (Joseph) Abraham of Alliance, 2 brothers Jeffery (Teresa) Gaul of Canton, Richard (Donna) Gaul of Ravenna, a granddaughter Jasmine Christine Postiy, 2 nieces Debra Bonilla and Samantha Bonilla, several other nieces and nephews, 2 brothers in law; Michael Postiy of Sebring, Larry (Mary Lou) Postiy of Warren a sister in law Robin (Kenny) Zupanic of Alliance, her mother in law Eileen Postiy of Alliance, and a aunt Linda Karns of Beloit. Dawn was preceded in death by her Father Robert in 1993 and her father in law Michael Postiy Sr. in 1983. Funeral Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11:00AM with Rev. Joy Blaney and Tom Palmer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 2-8PM with the family present from 6- 8PM. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made in Dawn’s memory to; the Alison Draves Scholarship Fund, the Sebring United Methodist Church or the Elk’s Ladies Auxillary #467 in Alliance.
