Dean B. Fortune, 86, of Alliance, passed away on September 12, 2013 at his home. He was born on April 16, 1927, in Malvern, Ohio, the son of the late Judge Glenn and Leona (Scott) Fortune. Dean was a graduate of Carrollton High School, Mount Union and McKinley School of Law and served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for 42 ½ years for First National Bank, now known as Chase. Dean was a member of Conrad Masonic Lodge, Tadmor Shrine and was a 32nd Degree Mason - Valley of Canton. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Dean is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally A. (Cullison) Fortune, whom he married on February 16, 1964 and his son Glenn Scott Fortune of Seneca, South Carolina. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother Keith on August 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held on at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kimball officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Monday September 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Dean’s honor to the Stark County Humane Society 5100 Peach St. NE, Louisville, OH 44641.
