Dean G. Nordquest, 85, of Salem passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. He was born in Warren, Ohio on September 12, 1927 the son of the late Carl and Ruth (Huston) Nordquest. Dean served as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps and worked at Ohio Bell as a Central Office Technician until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Salem where he served as an usher and on the Church Council. Dean was a Boy Scoutmaster and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, Hamm radio, gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Arlene (Lindberg) whom he married on May 23 1953, two sons; Roger (Mary) of Sebastian, FL and Richard (Diana) of Salem 4 grandsons; Keith (Jennifer) of Little Rock, AR, Matthew (Michele) of San Diego, CA, Brian (Jessica) of Alliance and Michael of Jacksonville, FL, 3 Great grandchildren; Jonathan, Victoria and Juliet, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lois and a brother Robert. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Rev.
