Debra J. (Kelley) Ripley, 63 of Salem passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1952 at Alliance Hospital, daughter of the late William and Ethel (McKarns) Kelley. After graduating from West Branch High School, she attended Kent State University, to receive her Bachelors in Special Education. After graduating from Kent State University, Debra worked for West Branch as an Elementary Special Education Teacher for 34 years. Debra was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the choir. She enjoyed attending demolition derbies, tractor pulls and going camping. Debra was a member in 4-H and then became an advisor. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Debra is survived by her husband of 24 years William Ripley; a daughter Colleen Ripley of Struthers, OH.; a son Thomas (Megan) Ripley of Lisbon, OH.; a brother Robert (Cynthia) Kelley of Shelby, OH.; two grandchildren Bricen and Arianna; eight nieces and nephews Abby, Ryan, Sara, David, Lori, Cheryl, Brian and Jenny; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ethel Kelley.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5-7 PM and the hour prior to the service on Friday. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
