Delbert E. Wilson, 79 of Beloit, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Delbert was born in Flint, Michigan on November 3, 1934 the son of the late Archie H. and Irene Leota (Huffman) Wilson; he was a graduate of Barryton High School and retired as an inspector for TRW now PCC in Minerva. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Tri-County Church of Christ where he served as an elder; he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan but most importantly loved to spend time with his family.
Survivors include his two children; Fred (Rosie) Wilson of Beloit, Yvonne (Rick) Stock of Slippery Rock, PA, four grandchildren; Tara (Steve) Garmier, Christi (Jeff) Nutini, SSG Jacob (Jenna) Wilson, Eric (Shanda) Powell and seven great grandchildren Madison Garmier, Kamryn Garmier, Gary Bowman, Luke Wilson, Hayley Powell, Aidan Nutini and Addison Nutini. He is also survived by two sisters Vivian Foster of Everett, MI, Darlene Brasington of Mt. Pleasant, MI, a brother in law Wilber Hopton of Canton, and a sister in law Faye Smith of Daytona, FL. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Hopton) Wilson, a great grandson Joseph Garmier, two brothers Fred and Butch Wilson, three sisters Eleanor, Norma Jean, Beulah and a brother in law Mervin Hopton.
A funeral service will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring on Saturday, May 10th at 1:00 PM with Pastor Terry Kirsch officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00PM till 8:00PM. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Friends and family may sign the guestbook online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
