Don W. Boehler, 87, of Sebring, passed away early Saturday morning, August 29, 2009 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. Don was born in Lorain, Ohio the son of the late Hal and Ruth (Beers) Boehler on May 6, 1922. He served in the US Navy during WWII from 1940 to 1946. Mr. Boehler earned his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Kentucky; while he attended there he played football under Paul Bear Bryant. Before his retirement Don was employed as an Electrical Engineer for the Carrier Corporation. He was a member of the University of Kentucky K-Men athletic organization, a member of the Elks Lodge in Venice, Florida and was inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame. Don loved traveling and golfing. Don is survived by his wife Lucille E. (Schwarz) Boehler whom he married on May 30, 1945, a son Bill (Eleanor) Boehler of Galena, IL, three daughters; Elizabeth (Russ) Erbe of Ravenna, OH, Patricia Agnew of Cleveland, OH, and Catherine (John) Hanson of Bremerton, WA.; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bruce Boehler. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring on Monday, August 31, 2009 with Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating.
