Donald "Fuzzy" Barnes

Donald “Fuzzy” Jay Barnes age 47, of Alliance, died at 12:55 AM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in Salem on October 3, 1962 the son of the late Mivert “Tobe” James and Louise (Howe) Barnes. He lived most of his life in Sebring, Ohio. He attended Sebring McKinley High School; and for the past 15 years he has struggled with Multiple Sclerosis. Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife Dorothy (Vercher) Barnes, of six years who he married on October 31, 2003, a son Brandon Barnes of Beloit, a step daughter Charlotte Vercher of Newton, Texas, a grandson Justin Vercher, 3 other grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Shirley Morrison of Alliance and Linda Prendergast of Alliance, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Buster Barnes, Paul Barnes, a sister Esther R. Hickerson and a niece Angie Weidow. A Service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 8:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Chester Bryant Officiating.
