Donald E. (Beeler) Beeler

Donald Edward Beeler, 90 of Chillicothe and formerly of Salem passed away at his home on December 21, 2015.  Don was born in Salem, August 6, 1925 the son of the late Clyde Irwin and Carrie Mae (Drudge) Beeler.  Donald was a 1943 graduate of Salem High School he retired from Columbiana Pump Company and was a Veteran of the US Coast Guard serving during WWII.  Mr. Beeler was a very active member of the Salem First United Methodist Church where he was a former member of the Administrative Board and Board of Trustees, he was active in the Men’s Missionary group, the Wednesday Morning Men’s Bible Study. Don was an avid bicyclist he was a former member of the “Out Spokin Wheelman” in Youngstown and a member of the Methodist “Holy Rollers” bicycle group in Salem and involved in the “Little Beaver Creek” Greenway Trail project; he was also a member of the Salem Masonic Lodge, Al Koran Shrine and a 32 Degree Scottish Right Member.

Survivors include his 2 daughters; Karen B. Weber Izenour of Salem, Linda L. (Don Woolf) Beeler PhD of Salem, 3 grandchildren; Donald (Marla) Weber of Chillicothe, Gary (Debra) Weber of Washingtonville, Matthew (Tracy Crawford) Weber of Union, SC and 8 great grandchildren; Alexandria, Jacob, Brianna, Kennedy, Gabriel, Evan, Shenodoah and Zander.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Elaine Mangus whom he married on June 21 1944 at Wheeling Island, WV and passed on April 30, 2013 after nearly 68 years of marriage.

A private service will take place a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Donald’s memory to the Salem First United Methodist Church, 244 South Broadway Ave. Salem, OH 44460.
