Donald L. Eagan Sr., 65, passed away Thursday evening, July 23, 2009 surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Canton. Don was born to Flossie A. (McDaniel) & Edward J. Eagan on January 11, 1944 in Sebring, Ohio. He attended Sebring McKinley High and lived most of his life in the Alliance-Sebring area. He was employed by several local steel mills, as a supervisor. He also spent many years in Texas, in supervisory positions. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed reading, traveling and hunting with his sons. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Sharon (Wasmire), whom he remarried on March 28, 2009. They had two sons together, Edward (Teresa) of North Canton, Donald âDonnieâ of Copley, whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind his pride and joy his grandson Cody Eagan. Also surviving are his sisters Betty Martin of Alliance, and Judy Irvin of Brookfield (who was his caregiver as well & never left his side); brothers Richard Eagan of Beloit and Jack Eagan of Alliance. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much, including a special niece Lisa McElrath who was like a daughter. He leaves his pet companions Maggie and Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mildred Martin and a brother Dale Eagan. A memorial service will be held Monday July 27, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with his brother Jack Eagan officiating.
