Donald Oesch

Donald “Don” F. Oesch 80, of Salem died Monday morning at Salem Community Hospital. He was born September 22, 1926 in Damascus to the late Frank & Elsie (Howells) Oesch. Don was a 1944 graduate of Salem High School and served in the United States Navy during WWII, after returning from the military he was employed as a machinist at EW Bliss until his retirement. Don was a member of the First Christian Church in Salem, he was also a member of Perry Masonic Lodge and the Independent Hose Club in Salem. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. (Sommer) Oesch, a son Greg (Katherine) Oesch of Salem, two daughters Cindy (Jack) Federan of Bedford, OH, Lynn (Bruce) Larrick of Philadelphia, PA two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Besides his parents Don was preceded in death by his brother Jack Oesch. Services will be held Wednesday, May 2nd at 1:00PM at the First Christian Church in Salem with Pastor Leonard Moore officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 11:30 AM in the First Christian Church Parlor, Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Historic Hope Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Salem Amvets VFW Honor Guard . Memorial contributions can be sent in Don’s memory to the Salem Alumni Association 328 East State Street, Salem, OH 44460.
