Donald "Don" J. Ruffier, 87 of Alliance, passed away on October 24, 2017 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in Louisville, Ohio on July 25, 1930; he was a US Army Veteran and retired from Matlack Trucking. Don was a Lifetime member of the Dante Club, Roma Society and the VFW (which he belonged to both Sebring and Alliance Posts), a member of the American Legion and the Eagles. He enjoyed football and baseball especially if it was a Cleveland team; he traveled to Canada to fish but most important was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Mayetta (Summers) Ruffier of Alliance, two sons Larry (Pam) Ruffier of Sanford, NC, Mark (Cindy) Ruffier of North Benton a daughter Sherie (Michael) Green of Sebring, four step sons; James Blake of Alliance, Robert (Becky) Blake of Sebring, Thomas Blake of Alliance and William (Jennifer) Blake of Paris, Ohio. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 sisters; Agnes Ruffier of Alliance and Eleanor Kritz of Louisville. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Bahler and a brother Bernard Ruffier.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Highland Memorial Park in the Chapel at 11:00AM with Pastor John Tucker officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
