Donna Swallow

Donna Jean Swallow, age 77, of Beloit passed away Wednesday Oct. 31, 2007 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem. She was born in Knox Twp., Columbiana County on Jan. 24, 1930 to the late Irvin E. and Delilah (Girard) Yaggi. Mrs. Swallow was a life member of the Bethel United Church of Christ and a graduate of Alliance High School, class of ’47; she also was a graduate of the Hanna Mullins School of Nursing in 1971. Donna was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Transue and Williams as the Industrial Shop Nurse retiring in 1979 and also worked part time at Babcox and Wilcox serving in the same position, she was also a member Mile Branch Grange, a very active member of the former Sebring OES and a current member of the Alliance Chapter #296 OES and the Alliance Ladies Shrine Club. Mrs. Swallow also worked as a Real Estate Agent for both the Kommel and Tanner Agencies. Donna is survived by her husband Robert E. Swallow whom she married Jan. 12, 1949, a daughter Linda (Allan) Miliken of Damascus, two sons Larry (Carol) Swallow of Salem and Lee Swallow of Lisbon, six grandchildren; Aaron (Jen) Miliken, Amy (Marc) Beckett, Alex Miliken, Carrie (J.F.) Babitsky, Ben Swallow, Bobby Swallow and Five great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters; Lois Hofer of Homeworth, Agnes Kertes Sebring, and Ethel Bruderly of Alliance. She was preceded in death by her Parents, two sons Lon E. in 1981 and Lynn C. ‘Ace” in 1988, two brothers; Leonard Yaggis and Dale Yaggi and a sister Mary Miller. Funeral Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Monday Nov. 5, 2007. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00PM to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6-8PM an Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at 5:30PM. Burial will be in Sebring Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Donna’s memory to the Alliance Shrine Transportation Unit. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
