Doris Packey

Biography

Doris M. Packey, 91 of Alliance, passed away on November 26, 2014 at Alliance Community Hospital; she was born in Beloit on August 12, 1923 the daughter of the late Frank W. and Laura E. (Cobb) Scalley. Doris worked as a decaler for Queens China, and for 81/2 years at the Alliance City Hospital. She also worked at the Alliance Senior Center, Copeland Oaks and TRW in Minerva. Mrs. Packey was raised by her grandparents Clarence and Dora Cobb and attended Young at Heart at the Assembly of God. She loved cooking, baking, flowers, planting, and gardening. Doris especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her cat "Jo Jo".
Survivors include three daughters, Joy (Willard) Whaley of Beloit, Laurie (Randy) Lipely of Alliance, Margaret Bezon of Alliance; three sons Lynn Hively of Oveida, Florida, Kendall L. (Peg Runyon) Hively of Fredericktown, Ohio, Andrew (Susan) Packey of Alliance; over 80 grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Ray Hively, second husband Harold Packey, a son David Hively and a sister Eileen Beckwith.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home in Sebring with Rev. William Gross officiating.
