Doris O. Sears age 86 of Sebring died at 1:42 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born October 30, 1921 in Burton, Ohio, Geauga County, to Josephine (Herold) and Richard J. Dow, and was a lifelong resident of the Sebring area. She was a graduate of the former Beloit High School and after graduation she was employed by the former Morrows Bakery of Sebring, until her marriage to her husband, Weston W. Sears on March 6, 1942. Doris worked at F.W. Woolworth in Fayetteville North Carolina while her husband was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. after which she returned to the home of her parents in Beloit and was employed by Ashtonâs 5 and 10 in Sebring until her husbands return home in November of 1945, from overseas in World War II. She was a member of Pine Lake Christian Church in Sebring. Doris is survived by her two sons; Lonnie (Ruth) Sears of Salem and Bruce (Cindy) Sears of New Springfield, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren. Mrs. Sears was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband on July 20, 1986, a sister Hilda Mae, two brothers Jerd Dow and Richard âJuniorâ Dow and a great grandson in 1993. Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Michael Bratten officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
