Dorothy Cameron

Dorothy M. Cameron, age 87, of Damascus passed away at 11:20 PM Friday Nov. 30, 2007, at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in North Georgetown, Ohio on March 12, 1920, to the late Charles & Lucy (Howells) Berger. She was a wonderful homemaker, and loved cooking & gardening. Her grandchildren were very special to her. Collecting antiques & going to auctions was a favorite pastime. She was a retired press operator for Greif Brothers and was active in the family farm. She was a graduate of Salem High School class of ‘38 and always attended the Coffee Elementary School reunions. She was a member of the Salem Saxon Retirees & long time member of the Salem Saxon Club,a member of the Smith Grange and a new member of the Salem Senior Citizen. Dorothy enjoyed going on bus trips with her friends. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Salem; she also attended the Damascus United Methodist Church and the Damascus Friends Church Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Gayla Caldrone of Damascus; Sister Betty “Bill” Meier of Savanna, GA; 2 grandsons James (Deanna) Calderone of Salem; Joshua Calderone of Burbank, CA; 2 Great grandchildren Anthony and Gianna Calderone and many nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Cameron on October 15, 1995. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Wilkins & Rev. John Riser officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM prior to the service .Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. . Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
