Dorothy Cobbs

Dorothy M. Cobbs, 90 of Sebring passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Alliance Community Hospital. Dorothy was born in Damascus, Ohio on April 9, 1923 the daughter of the late Ralph and Nellie (Ball) Steer. She was a graduate of Malone College with a degree in Early Child Development; and went on to teach at St. Mark’s Episcopal Daycare in Canton and also worked at the Damascus Post Office. She was a member of the Damascus Friends Church, the Garden Club, Book Club and Missionary Circle.
Survivors include two sons; David (Rene) Cobbs of North Canton, Dean (Beverlee) Cobbs of Beloit and a daughter, Carol Cobbs of Alliance, six grandchildren; Cheryl Libb, Jessica Cobbs, Theresa Cobbs, Rebecca Cobbs, Jessamyn Yoder and Amelia Cobbs, three great grandchildren Adriann Cobbs, Jase Libb and Sydney Libb. She is also survived by a brother Donald (Sandy) Steer. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Cobbs who passed on June 24, 2010 and two sisters; Marjorie Dunn and Helen Schroeder.
A Funeral Service will be held today, Friday, November 1, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with Pastor John Ryser officiating. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Damascus Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Dorothy’s honor to the Damascus Friends Church. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
