Dorothy Mae Conner Halk, 82, of Sebring died unexpectedly at her home on February 22, 2009. Mrs. Halk was born in Alliance on August 7, 1926 the daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Ruff) Bevington. Dorothy was employed at Monarch Rubber in Hartville for 26 years retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Sebring Presbyterian Church, the VFW Auxiliary #6730 and the American Legion Auxiliary #76. Dorothy loved her church and being involved in many church activities, helped with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and she supported her grandchildren at their church and school activities, she enjoyed taking trips with her children, and also enjoyed playing bingo and cards. Mrs. Halk is survived by her children: a daughter Cheryl (Michael) Egli of Sebring, a son Chip (Linda) Conner of Rockbridge, OH, a daughter Jodi Conner, a daughter Michele Conner Jordan, a son R. Timothy Conner, a daughter, Lori (Greg) Morris all of Sebring. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; Stacey Drennen, Derek Egli, Michael Ostrosky, Adam Virden, Bryan Conner, Garth Egli, Ian Welty, Erin Addington, Bryn Gentile, Brendan Conner, Krystle Welty, Morgan Kinser and Ryann Mae Morris, twenty-one great grandchildren; Conner and Evie Drennen, Marina and Presley Egli, Tanner Egli, Tyler and Maeve Gentile, Colin Conner, Willow and Tucker Addington, Jennifer Adams, Jordan Virden, Ashley, TJ and Aaron Ostrosky, Kayla Welty Moore, Alexus Carver, Kiyan and Bella Welty, Riley Conner Rowles and Camryn Kinser, one great great granddaughter Kiley Lacher, a brother Carl Rittenour of Pamona, CA plus many friends, extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and her church family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ralph “Chip” Conner on Dec. 28, 1969, her second husband Robert Halk on June 9, 2005, two sisters; Marie Lanham and Bessie Olsen and one brother Cecil Rittenour. As Mothers and Grandmothers go, she was a saint, always the peacemaker and supporter in our family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 27th at the Sebring Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Reich officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 26th from 2-8 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM.
