Hively, Dorothy J. Dorothy “Dottie” Hively, 83, formerly of 432 West 4th Street, Salem, died Friday Aug. 11th at 1:55p.m. at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana. She was born to the late Emerson and Bertha (Wineland) Hively on April 14, 1923, she graduated from Leetonia High School in 1941 and worked for The A&P Tea Company of Salem, retiring as bookkeeper after over 40 years of service. Dottie was a member of St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ in Leetonia where she held many offices and positions during her attendance. She is survived by her Sister Margaret (Bill) Segesman of Canton two brothers Emerson “Jay” Hively of Salem and Adin “Dick” Hively of Leetonia, one niece and three nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Wanda Shaw. Services will be held Tuesday, August 15th at St. Jacob’s UCC at 11:00 AM friends may call at Brown Funeral Home in Salem, Monday from noon to 8:00 PM with the family being present from 6 to 8 PM and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Jacob’s Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Dottie’s memory to the church at 5219 St. Jacob-Logtown Rd.
