Dorothy (Dottie) M. Phillips, 90, of Sebring passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. She was born in Pleasant Hill, Maryland on April 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Wallace A. and Lena M. (Phillips) Matthew. Dorothy attended Southwest Baptist Church before moving to the Sebring area. She was a homemaker but also worked in the food and beverage industry for many years. Dorothy enjoyed singing and writing poems and verses, often being asked to share her talents with others. However most importantly she loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her family; Jeen (Scott) Ptak of Vermont and their children Jennifer (Alex) Stokes and David Ptak; Kay Pullo of Alliance and her children Christopher (Jordan) Pullo and Bethany Pullo; Phillip (Pam) Harlan of Salem and their children Nathan Harlan and Katherine Harlan; Trisha (Dave) Austin of Alliance and their children Millie Austin and Lucas Austin. She is also survived by four great grandchildren; Ethan, Jacob, Briana, Braydon and a brother Milo Matthew. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Phillips on November 18, 2014 and her siblings; Ernestine Mercer and Cloteel Stelt.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor Scott Ptak and Reverend Greg Davis officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday the two hours prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
