Dorothy Schaffer

Dorothy V. Schaffer 96, formally of Westville Lake passed away at her daughter’s home in Louisville on March 24, 2014. Dorothy was born on December 4, 1917 in Alliance, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (McKenzie) Sefert. Dorothy was a graduate of Mount Union College and retired from West Branch School’s after thirty two years of Teaching. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, NEA and NEOTA .Dorothy was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s singing group, Alliance Senior Center, loved dancing and singing and was a huge Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events
Survivors include her Daughter Jill (Joe) Simone of Louisville, Ohio, 10 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband Eugene Schaffer whom she married in 1939 and two sons Richard Schaffer and Timothy Schaffer.
