Dorothy M. Smith, 94 of Homeworth passed away at her daughters home on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Dorothy was born in Knox Township, on May 30, 1919, the daughter of the late William & Stella (Stanley) Risden. She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling, square dancing, having been a member of the Minerva Burliques.
Survivors include her children; Robert (Norma) Smith of Salem, Carolyn (Ramon) Oesch of Homeworth; 5 grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Reisner, Brian (Tiffany) Smith, Brad (Jen) Smith, Erin (Kevin) Gillingham, Corey (Becky) Oesch; 13 great grandchildren, Brent and Renee Reisner, Austin and Claire Smith, Brock, Jed, and Brynn Smith, Hunter, Rianna and Neely Gillingham, Madison, Titus and Ledger Oesch. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elzie W. Smith whom she married on February 14, 1942 and passed in December 31, 2007, a son Ron Smith and a brother Robert Risden.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home in Sebring with Rev. Haan Phelps officiating.
