Dorthy Grace Riley, 91 of Damascus passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Salem Ohio on January 10, 1923 the daughter of the late Loran and Edna (Phillips) Malmsberry, she was a graduate of Goshen High School and a member of East Goshen Friends Church where she was a Sunday school assistant in the nursery, the Thursday Women’s Group for over 50 years and the ladies Missionary Group at the Church. Dorthy also enjoyed needlework.
Survivors include her son Michael B. (Wanda) Riley of Dillon, MT, two daughters; Wendy Sue Walters of Burlington, NC, Patricia A. (Gary) Hough of Beloit. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Susan A. Anstine, Stephen D. (Julia) Hough, Michael S. (Michelle) Riley, C. Patrick (Tuesday) Riley, Erin K. (Josh) Kraft, Elizabeth M. (Griff) Kilby, Jessica J. (Corey) Williams, Nicolette L. Walters, Megan M. Walters and Great Grandchildren; Kristopher I. Anstine, Bradley A. Anstine, Ella K. Hough, Sean M. Riley, Eythan B. Riley, Elissa R. Bauer and Cooper R. Kilby. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Charles “Bruce” Riley whom she married on July 5, 1942, a brother Virgil, Sister Olive Lora and a brother Dale Malmsberry.
A funeral service will be held at East Goshen Friends Church on Friday November 14, 2014 at 12:00 PM. With the Rev. Gerald Baker officiating Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place in East Goshen cemetery.
