Douglas Strother

Douglas R. Strother, 41, of Sebring died at his home on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Douglas was born in Ravenna on November 29, 1968 the son of Leonard R. Lanham and Sandra (Strother) McDaniel. Mr. Strother was employed by Ruhl Electric where he served his apprenticeship; he was a member of the American Legion Post #76, the VFW Post #6730, and the William Penn Club in Alliance. He enjoyed Fishing and playing video games, but always found time to help others in need. Survivors include two daughters; Nicola Strother of Beloit, Nikita Strother of WI, a son Nicholas Williams, NC, three grandchildren; Ariel Smith, Nathanial Smith and Joseph Strother. He is also survived by 5 sisters; Penny Andrews of Ravenna, Sharon Campbell of Akron, Patrice McDaniel of North Carolina, Kathy McDaniel of Florida, Patty Edwards of West Virginia and 2 brothers; Stewart McDaniel of North Carolina and Harold Lanham of Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 20th at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ronald Lanham officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-7 PM before the service.
